‘WOW Empowers Over 25 Rural Communities in Sabah Through Organic Farming’

Since 2016, Women Of Will (WOW) has worked alongside more than 25 rural communities in Sook, Keningau, Sabah through the WOW Perkasa Organic Farming Programme.

The initiative focuses on empowering women with agricultural knowledge, practical skills, and farming equipment to help create sustainable income opportunities while strengthening community resilience.

To date, the programme has supported 372 women and nurtured 59 community leaders who actively contribute to the growth and well-being of their local communities.

Beyond agriculture, the programme also promotes entrepreneurship development. In Kampung Maatol, former WOW participants established community-driven businesses including WOW Warung, a local eatery, and WOW Grocery Store, providing accessible services and income-generating opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

The programme continues to support rural communities through agricultural assistance, tailored training sessions, and regular site visits to help participants improve productivity and overcome challenges in sustainable farming.
